Are you a Band 6 paediatric dietitian looking for your next challenge? We are looking for a Band 7 paediatric dietetic team lead for Wrexham and Flintshire to build on the successful work of our current postholder. You will be responsible for a team of 2.4wte Band 6 dietitians and a full time Band 3 dietetic assistant. The department sees the whole range of paediatric conditions, including cows' milk allergy, oral and enteral nutrition support, diabetes and feeding issues. The care of cystic fibrosis patients is shared with Alderhey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. The recently established North Wales Level 3 paediatric weight management service supports children and their families with weight management. Wrexham Maelor Hospital has one children's ward and a Level 2 Special Care Baby Unit (the Band 7 Dietitian at the Level 3 unit at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Rhyl leads on strategy and is available for advice and support). You will be part of a network of paediatric dietitians across North Wales, who meet twice a year all together and collaborate on projects and resources throughout the year. The wider dietetic department consists of over 50 dietitians and dietetic assistants, supported by an administration team. We work closely with our colleagues in the rest of North Wales and take your continuing development seriously, offering internal and external opportunities.
Main duties of the job
A specialist clinical case load including diabetes and allergy, as well as a general paediatric clinic.
Paediatric prescribing support with medicines management
Excellent data collection and analysis skills
Be an active member of the dietetic leadership team
Be an active member of the paediatric MDT and leadership teams
