Due to an exciting redesign of our clinical pharmacy service we have a very exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic technician to come and join a specialist clinical areas of cancer care in our growing team!
Prior experience in cancer care in not required as you will be fully supported and trained by our friendly, dedicated team you do require a thirst to learn, a passion to deliver excellent patient centred care and transferrable leadership experience.
Clatterbridge is an exciting place to continue your clinical pharmacy journey in a purpose built city centre hospital in Liverpool with state of the art facilities, working within a cutting edge clinical environment. This role represents an opportunity to develop and further progress in the rewarding specialty that is cancer care. The successful candidates will also receive mentoring and support to grow as a leader.
Clatterbridge Cancer Centre provides excellent cancer care to patients across the North West (including North Wales and the Isle of Man). We have 3 site locations the central Liverpool site and hub sites in the Wirral and Aintree.
Working pattern will be 37.5 hours per week which includes weekends. Contribution to the Bank holiday rota will be part of the post. For a detailed list of our employee benefits, please see the attached documents to this vacancy.
Main duties of the job
To act as the senior technician in relation to high-cost drugs to lead, deliver and evaluate the use of high-cost medicines used in specialised commissioning in accordance with the objectives set by the regional NHSE Pharmacy representative.
To support implementation of any QIPP, CIP, CQUINs and other cost-effective schemes relating to the use of high-cost medicines in specialised commissioning and ensure consistency across the local healthcare economy.
To support, implement and manage switching of biosimilars and other high-cost medicines in accordance to specialised commissioning criteria, in conjunction with the pharmacy, specialist teams and primary care colleagues ensuring safe, efficient, and comprehensive service.
To support NHSE workplans and objectives: completion and resolution of challenges in a timely manner, assurance of completion of Blueteq, support responding to questions raised by NHSE in a timely fashion, support regular 1:1 meetings with NHSE, assist in completion of quarterly reports for the first 12 months then annually thereafter, complete medicines value report and work closely with the Trust High cost drugs pharmacist
To ensure that high-cost medicines used in specialised commissioning are implemented and delivered safely and with high quality.
