We are looking for a HCPC registered BMS to join our Microbiology team.
To provide patients with the highest standard of diagnosis and treatment by working as part of the Microbiology laboratory team supplying high quality, specialised, microbiological analysis and surveillance.
To be responsible for the effective day-to-day running of key laboratory sections and defined sample benches within the laboratory.
Rotates through all the areas of the Microbiology laboratory and supports the 24/7 service rotas.
Main duties of the job

- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Registered with HCPC

- Fellowship of IBMS
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential
- Working knowledge of laboratory bench areas
- Knowledge of safety, including infectious diseases, dangerous chemicals/gases and PPE
- Knowledge of laboratory computer systems or equivalent
- Ability to work accurately from written protocols
- Ability to use, control and maintain analytical equipment
- Ability to train and organise less qualified/experienced staff
- Highly developed physical skills to include the use of microscopes, pipettes, balances
