The postholder will be based within a specialist CAMHS service in Bury. New investment has enabled the creation of the first Systemic Family Therapy post within Bury CAMHS. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the Systemic Therapy offer to children and families in Bury.The postholder will work alongside colleagues and provide training, consultation, supervision and specialist intervention while simultaneously promoting Systemic Therapy across the large multi-agency network of mixed professionals and supporting healthy relationships within our Bury families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is recognised as a Systemic Family Practitioner within Pennine Care Trust and will have direct, clinical involvement in, and extensive knowledge of the defined speciality. They will have responsibility for organising and delivering a Systemic therapeutic pathway for children and their families accessing the service.They will provide specialist knowledge and consultation to other CAMHS Team members and will be involved in the development of Family Therapy across the Pennine Care Trust, CAMHS Service.

Job responsibilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities To develop and lead the development of Systemic Therapy offer within the Service and the wider CAMH Services in the Trust. To provide consultation and training to other CAMHS professionals working within the service. To deliver a specialist Systemic Therapy Clinic to complex cases referred from within the CAHMS team To liaise with other organisations including Social Services and Educationproviding consultation where appropriate. To provide strategies and intervention to meet the needs of complex cases where there has been resistant to other interventions offered or where a Systemic Therapy approach is appropriate.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Systemic Family Practice (SFP) qualification. AFT accredited.
  • Further short courses or experience to Masters level


Desirable

  • Relevant first degree.


Experience

Essential

  • Extensive post qualification clinical experience.
  • Post qualifying experience in systemic family practice.
  • Experience of consultation to other professionals.
  • Experience of delivering formal training up to and including intermediate level.


Desirable

  • Work experience within a range of mental health settings
  • Experience of supervision in the speciality.


Knowledge

Essential

  • Skills in applying systemic theory across individual, group and organizational boundaries.
  • Systemic theory and practice in order to provide consultation and direct work to complex cases
  • Knowledge of legislation, its implications for clinical practice.
  • Knowledge of other modalities


Desirable

  • Publication of article in professional journal
