The purpose of this role is part of the NHS London and affiliated University's strategic investment in exploring and developing collaborative educational initiatives that support the implementation of the 'Making a Difference' curriculum.
The post holder in collaboration with Higher Education Institutes (HEI) colleagues will develop and implement strategies designed to foster cultural and behavioural change within the practice environment and provide effective support and supervision to pre- registration Allied Health Profession (AHP) students in North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) localities and departments.
The post holder will be required to deputise for the Practice Experience Facilitation Manager as required.
Main duties of the job
The main function of this post is to work collaboratively with HEIs and AHPs to:o Ensure the provision of practice opportunities for pre-registration and post registration AHPstudents within NELFT.o Establish systems for monitoring, reviewing, improving and reporting on the quality of the practice learning environment and the usage of placementso Instigate new developments and initiatives for promoting inter-professional learning opportunities for students in the practice setting.o Provide support to mentors and maintain a 'live' register of current practice educators and mentors, promote and implement initiatives aimed at developing and enhancing the quality of students' practice experience.o Ensure the provision of practice opportunities for AHP apprenticeship students and be the Trust based apprenticeship co-ordinator liaising with course leaders on behalf of NELFT and the apprentice.

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of �4,313 to a maximum of �5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).

Job responsibilities
The PEF (practice experience facilitation) team is a multi-professional team concerned with supporting and facilitating practice education amongst nurses and AHPs. They also work closely with their preceptorship colleagues.
Support and facilitation of AHP student placements, and support of AHP apprenticeship placements. This role will require regular communications with our AHP teams and the relevant higher education partners, and with our AHP students.
