The Nurse Lead will ensure: Services meet the needs of children,young people,and their families to achieve improved health outcomes while demonstrating care, compassion, competence, communication, and commitment. Care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity and is child/young person centred, culturally sensitive and evidence-based.*Development and maintenance of a culture of service improvement.*All registrants will in line with the requirements set out in the NMC code:Prioritise people Practice effectively Preserve safety Promote professionalism and trust.*Clinical practice and services are evidence based and policy driven being delivered to the highest standards of person-centred customer care.*Positive inspirational leadership, connecting children, young people and their families, staff and partners with the vision and values of Solent NHS Trust.The post holder will deliver effective skilled clinical leadership and pro-active resource management including the delivery on all aspects outlined in the Matrons Handbook (2020) which are:*Inclusive leadership, professional standards, and accountability.*Governance, patient safety, and quality, in collaboration with the Quality Governance Lead*Workforce planning and resource management.*Patient experience and reducing health inequalities.*Performance and operational oversight.*Education, training, and development.*Research and development.*Collaborative working and clinical effectiveness.*Service improvement and transformation.

About us

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by the end of 2024.

Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.

The new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on the day the trust is formed. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Children's Nurse (NMC)
  • Educated to Masters' degree level or equivalent in relevant specialty
  • Evidence of post registration development
  • Leadership and management qualification or equivalent


Desirable

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., ENB998 or equivalent)


Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of Children's Community Nursing, or equivalent community experience
  • Experience of line management and team leadership at Band 8 within Children's Nursing clinical speciality
  • Experience and knowledge of clinical practice in associated clinical speciality
  • Experience of analysis and reporting of data
  • Experience of developing evidence-based practice
  • Experience of implementing complex change and/or transformation of services in a clinical setting
  • Experience of inter-agency working
  • Clinical experience of health care services within speciality
  • Experience of managing resources, e.g., budgets, staff, training
  • Experience in influencing internal/external activities
  • Experience in developing and delivering programmes of clinical
