Dietitian ACP - Complex Nutrition Support
This is a very exciting time when the trust is developing a newly created specialist Nutrition Team - this Dietitian ACP post will be an integral member of this new service. As part of the multi-professional team (including a Nutrition nurse, pharmacist and Lead Consultant for nutrition) the post holder will develop advanced clinical practice in the area of complex nutrition support. Working autonomously and practicing collaboratively the post holder will become a clinical leader in nutritional care - driving the new service forward. Professionally managed by and sitting within the Nutrition and Dietetics department the post holder will be demonstrating advanced levels of clinical judgement and diagnostic reasoning to support specialist management of nutritional treatments, feeding devices and patient pathway planning.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member in the initial set up of the new service. The post holder will develop knowledge and skills beyond the scope of a Band 7 dietetic clinician enabling this role to undertake advanced clinical practice supported by a Consultant medical colleague. Demanding a particular quality of applicant demonstrating commitment and dedication to the achievement of the two-year master's ACP qualification and who is equally passionate about championing nutritional service development, through projects around Quality improvement, Governance, Education and Research. The post holder needs to demonstrate a level of professionalism and critical thinking demanded by this grade, be a role model demonstrating team leadership, advanced communication skills and engagement in leading change to support a patient and person-centred approach to nutrition service delivery and development.
The department is an established trainer for, P2 and P3 placement dietetic students. You will be actively involved in training students, provide training for health professionals including contribution to our nutrition training for medics whilst being a source of support to all colleagues around complex nutritional care.
Candidates must be an experienced qualified dietitian, registered with HCPC committed to promoting nutritional health.
