A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join the friendly, supportive, and highly skilled respiratory specialist nursing team in York. The respiratory specialist nursing team provide care for patients with Asthma and COPD and Home Oxygen within the acute hospital setting and follow-ups in the community and clinic settings.
Although this vacancy is advertised at 22.5 hours per week we would be delighted to hear from those wanting to work up to 30 hours a week as more hours may become available in the future.
Interviews will take place on the 30th August 2024.
Main duties of the job
A high level of clinical decision making is required for this role and the post holder will be expected to develop, demonstrating your ability to make clinical decisions autonomously supported by senior Respiratory nurses.
The post holder will initially be required to support the running of Nurse led clinics for Oxygen and Asthma with a view to taking the lead once deemed competent.
Ensure the team work proactively to deliver a responsive service to patients with both planned and unplanned care needs.
The post holder will work collaboratively with other colleagues to provide patients with a holistic needs assessment, offering education to achieve a person centred approach , promoting a culture which enables patients to focus on self management.
Supporting the implementation, monitoring and adherence to clinical guidelines.
As this role is across both community and acute setting it is vital you are able to work within your capacity and escalate patients care in the event of deterioration.
The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy. Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence (role will involve travel to numerous addresses that cannot be easily accessed by public transport means) is required.
