We are seeking to recruit a motivated and experienced Health Visitor Manager to the role of Senior Nurse - Quality Assurance, to work in Ceredigion as part of the Children's Public Health Nursing Service. This is a permanent Band 8a post working 30 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide effective operational leadership and management to Children's Public Health Nursing within Hywel Dda University Health Board. The post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Health Visiting & Early Year's Senior Nurse and Children's Public Health Nursing within the Women and Children Directorate.

We are seeking individuals who can further develop a robust infrastructure ensuring professional and clinical governance standards are met, in line with the Healthy Child Wales Programme.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will be professionally accountable for the delivery and operational management for a defined service area. This will include the line management of nursing staff, managing and monitoring resources within their area and within a defined budget as well as contributing to the corporate agenda. This person will have strong communication and leadership skills and be a dynamic and forward thinking individual.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Registered Nurse/ Midwife
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse
  • Educated to Masters level in a healthcare related subject/ or working towards with equivalent experience
  • Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development within the speciality linked to demonstrable clinical competencies
  • Evidence of dynamic CPD to postgraduate diploma level


Desirable

  • RCN Leadership course or equivalent


Experience

Essential

  • NHS experience at managerial level incorporating strategic and operational management of Children's Public Health Nursing services.
  • Awareness of up to date with NHS agenda, Public Health priorities, national directives and all governance aspects of health care
  • Proven track record of undertaking and completing significant projects
