This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Band 7- Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to lead a team and offer their expertise and skills in shaping and developing a General Medicine ward.

You will be a passionate advocate for outstanding care, recognising and meeting the priorities of our patients and staff. You will have exceptional transformational leadership skills and a drive to improve practice and learning

Main duties of the job

What we are looking for:
  • Leadership, the successful candidate must be a leader who will promote excellence within the ward. We are looking for someone with previous band 6 or higher experience who can bring innovative ideas to the ward and develop and mentor a team.
  • Innovation, Evidence of quality improvement and advancing practice who is committed to promoting evidence-based care.
  • Enthusiasm, advanced communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Aspiration, the successful candidate must be committed to improving their own clinical practice, knowledge and skills.

Person Specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent study or work experience
  • Band 6 with minimum 1 years experience at this level
  • Professional UK registration e.g. NMC, HCPC


Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile
  • Experience of staff supervision and mentorship including, employee relations, performance, conduct and training needs analysis


Desirable

  • Understanding of Health Environment policies and legislation including Clinical, Human Resources, Equality & Diversity , Governance

  • Professionally presented and calm approach
  • Keen to learn and take on opportunities for personal and departmental development
