An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative service as a Team manager for SETCAMHS Learning Disability Team.
The post holder will work with a team of CAMHS clinicians and consultants as part of a Multi Disciplinary Team and be expected to support their team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust's Values in their day to day work. The post-holder will be a post-graduate qualified psychological practitioners (e.g. psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist) or graduate qualified health care professional (e.g. nurse, social worker, occupational therapist), fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC), and have at least two years' experience in working directly with children or adults with a learning disability preferably in CAMHS or similar).
Main duties of the job
NELFT have been awarded the Contract to provide CAMHS services across Southend, Essex and Thurrock in partnership with HCRG for the next seven years. We will be delivering services within a THRIVE model which is a collaborative approach with young people , families and partner organisations. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative new ways of working.
The team provides mental health services to children and young people with severe to profound learning disabilities who additionally may also have a range of related complex developmental disorders. A very high percentage of the children in the service also have an additional Autistic Spectrum diagnosis. The team offers a specialist community based Mental Health service across Essex to children and young people and their parents and professionals who care and support them at home and in all environments. The team cover the age range up to 18 across the county to provide a more equitable service for all children with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
The administrative base for the team is in Chelmsford, Essex but the team's work is community based across the county.
The post holder will support their peers within the management team and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
