An exciting opportunity is now available at the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in emergency care.
The post offers the opportunity to work in one of the busiest urgent care centres in the UK within an exciting University Hospital environment with a mixed caseload of patients across a number of areas including A& E Front of House, acute medical unit, resus, short stay ward and ambulatory care. The therapy team consist of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and dual trained Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Technical Instructors. The therapy team work as part of a wider, dedicated multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will be able to demonstrate relevant experience and have a sound understanding of rapid assessment, intervention, decision making, discharge planning and services available to support this.
Main duties of the job
The urgent care team at the UHNM is innovative and enthusiastic with strong leadership and a commitment to MDT working. The team work within a 7 day shift system therefore the post holder will be required to work weekends, late shifts and bank holidays. There will also be an expectation to cross cover the wide Occupational Therapy services at UHNM on occasions.
As a static member of the team there will be opportunities for professional and personal progression to develop clinical, educational and leadership skills, as well as opportunities to lead service development projects.
