North Locality MLCO has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team.

The post involves carrying a varied caseload of patients with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties. The successful candidate will be working within a specialist Multi-Disciplinary Team which includes Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Specialist Nursing. They will also be working with Speech and Language Therapists both within the North Manchester Stroke and Neuro Teams and across the MLCO.

The service is passionate about delivering high quality, patient centred care within the patient's own homes and wider community settings and as a result the successful candidate will be required to travel across the city of Manchester. A UK Driving license and access to a vehicle for work are essential for the post.

Main duties of the job

To provide assessment and intervention for patients with acquired swallowing and/or communication problems on the Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team caseload.

To work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team to deliver integrated care plans with patient needs and goals at the forefront of care.

To support and develop more junior registered and non-registered staff members in the service.

To be part of service development, with the opportunity to develop leadership skills.
