We are recruiting for a Rheumatology Specialist Support Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Main duties of the job

You will become part of a well-established multidisciplinary team treating patients with rheumatology conditions.

Be responsible for supporting the specialist nursing team to provide high quality, patient focused care.

You will provide specialist advice and support to patients, liaising with other staff members and allied healthcare professionals.This includes specialist education about the treatments used in the speciality.

You will be able to assess, plan and implementing specialist individual nursing care to our patient cohort.

You will be responsible for liaising with other staff and allied healthcare professionals.

Run nurse-led clinics across our three sites, and offer support via the advice line, with support from the consultants and senior nursing team.

Qualifications / Training

Essential

  • Registered nurse
  • Relevant experience in speciality
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Post registration qualification in speciality, or willingness to complete
  • Intravenous infusion training
  • Cannulation training


Desirable

  • Chemotherapy / cytotoxic administration training
  • Degree
  • Teaching or mentoring qualification


Previous Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable expert nursing skills
  • Evidence of mentorship/preceptorship roles
  • Able to accept personal accountability for own practice
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice
  • Understanding and knowledge of specialist field


Desirable

  • Experience of formal/informal teaching
