Applications are invited for the position of a Senior Patient Pathway Coordinator at the Royal London Hospital within the Ear, Nose and Throat Department.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our busy team in the Ear Nose and Throat Service. The post holder will be essential for the effective management of the administration associated with patient pathways and will play a key role working within a multi-disciplinary team. They will need excellent organisational, communication, HR Management skills and have a strong commitment to delivering a high-quality service for our patients. The post is subject to a 6-month probationary period from the start of your employment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing administrative support to designated clinicians and patient cohorts. This will include the proactive management of individual patient pathways to ensure that patients are diagnosed and treated in line with clinical need and national and local waiting time and access targets

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent or equivalent training and experience of administrative procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of office management, system and practice
  • Knowledge of the RTT policy.
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of confidentiality principles with regards to patient data
  • To have a sound understanding of NHS wide initiatives and experience of responding positively to ensure local implementation.


Desirable

  • 18-week knowledge
  • Previous RTT/Validation knowledge


Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrate level of administrative experience at a high level of competence acquired through both training and experience
  • Proven experience of managing a small team
  • Demonstrate experience of working in an office environment
  • Previous NHS or Healthcare experience


Desirable

  • Experience working in NHS
  • Experience managing patient referrals, patient records and database


Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Keyboard skills to access and input to data systems.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products
  • Competence with range of IT packages e.g CRS
  • Able to supervise and deliver administrative and clerical duties appropriately
  • Understanding of Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act


Desirable

  • Ability to use information to monitor processes, plan and initiate action
