We are looking for motivated and dynamic nurses to expand and complement our innovative nursingteam. In return, we offer a friendly supportive working environment and a variety of exciting career opportunities.
As a Network Neonatal Unit we are a progressive level 3 unit currently providing 7 intensive care, 10 high dependency/special care and 16 transitional care cot's, serving the population of Devon and Cornwall. It is anticipated to expand following collaborative ODN agreement and publication of the National Neonatal Service Specification.
Our accomplished nursing establishment, ANNP team, designated medical staff, Outreach Service and tier of support staff facilitate the local ethos of delivering highly specialised care in partnership with parents. The Neonatal Transport Service, SoNar South is also located within the unit, which provides an expert 24 hour retrieval service and gives QIS staff further opportunity to advance their clinical skills.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for the delivery of effective quality care in accordance with local, Service Line and Trust policies and guidelines with the support of the senior nursing team
Participate in Network NICU service development
Participate in evidence based practice and neonatal research
Contribute to resource management in the provision of neonatal services
Engage in Clinical Governance initiatives within the Directorate

Competent in the use of medical devices and responsible for the correct use of specialist equipmentby the multidisciplinary team4. Promote a positive and professional working environment5. Participate in clinical supervision6. Liaise with, and report to the multidisciplinary team in the provision of family centred care7. Identify, manage and refer appropriately, infants requiring Safeguarding assessment8. Encourage parents and carers to be actively involved in the planning and delivery of care to their infant9. Promote health education within the clinical area for families10. Assist in the provision of family support and bereavement services11. Assist with the discharge/ transfer process of infants to other care services12. Where applicable, participate in the Neonatal Transport Service- SoNar13.
