We are currently looking to recruit Band 5 Preceptorship Midwives into our Service at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Eastern Services.

The unit team and the integrated teams will be working to embed models of care as appropriate, working in a shifted pattern. We are looking for newly qualified Midwives who are enthusiastic and can demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team in all of these areas.

Our preceptorship posts are substantive but there is an expectation that the successful candidate will have completed the preceptorship programme in 1 year and then be able to transition to a Band 6 post. This Trust operates a 6 month probationary period. We have a number of posts available in each team except the Homebirth team.

Our preceptorship package Acorn to Oak is a well-established programme including formal study days in the first 6 months to support the transition to practice, skill acquisition and peer support.

The Maternity service is in a privileged position and able to offer women within our care the choice to birth in a variety of locations. These currently include home, Exeter and Tiverton birth centres as well as the acute unit on the Labour ward in Exeter.

Teams are based in Exeter, Exmouth, Honiton, Tiverton and Okehampton. Integrated Midwives work both within their teams and the acute Hospital to provide continuity.

As an integrated Midwife you will be responsible for a caseload of women providing antenatal and postnatal care as well as intrapartum care as part of a team model.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Days and Nights including some bank holidays and weekends. Long days 07:30 - 20:30, Short days 07:30 - 15:30 or 12:30 - 20:30 and Community days 9:00 - 17:00 .We would also consider 30 hours per week.
