We are excited to be able to announce that with new mental health transformation funding we will be launching a service aimed at identifying and supporting individuals who are vulnerable to developing psychosis (At Risk Mental State). The service will work alongside those at risk of developing psychosis to create opportunities to develop preventative strategies and support through partnership with local mental health, social care, primary care and third sector agencies.

There will be a number of new posts in this new multi-disciplinary team aimed at offering predominantly, but not exclusively, psychosocial interventions with an evidence base of mental health prevention. This post will be part of that new team.

We have an interesting and exciting opportunity for a Clinical Counselling Psychologist / CBT Therapist to join the ARMS team and deliver a psychologically lead service to people identified as having an At Risk Mental State (ARMS), based in Hertfordshire.

As a specialist mental health service for those with ARMS, the service will be based on NICE-recommended interventions. This will include comprehensive assessment and psychological interventions for psychosis or co-existing mental health problems (e.g. depression, anxiety, emerging personality disorder, substance misuse). These activities are often supported with family interventions, care coordination, social prescribing and education/employment support. The psychological therapists are an integral part of the ARMS multi-disciplinary team. Key responsibilities would include supporting the team in developing psychological formulation for treatment planning; assisting assessment using psychometric tools such as Comprehensive Assessment of At Risk Mental States (CAARMS); and delivering evidence-based individual psychological therapy.

We are looking for a Clinical Counselling Psychologist / CBT Therapist to work positively and proactively with the MDT and with people who present to our services. You will be skilled in working with recovery based and collaborative approaches to care planning, working flexibly and creatively with people in order to achieve their individual goals.

This is a varied and busy role which provides a community service to the local population from age 14years upwards.

This is a newly commissioned service aiming to recruit supportive, highly skilled, established and professionals. The ARMS service will work closely with PATH (Early Intervention in Psychosis Service) and develop and maintain links with other services in HPFT and the wider community.

If you are enthusiastic, self-motivating with a commitment to delivering high quality service users care we would like to hear from you.
