We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic RSCN/RN Child with good organisational skills and an aptitude to learn quickly to provide care and support in the department.
This is a busy and varied role in a department with a patient footfall of in excess of 35000 per year. The post holder must have a flexible approach to work and a calm, professional manner. The ability to work accurately whilst multi-tasking is essential. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and have excellent communication and customer service skills. The role will involve hands on clinical care delivery at times, chaperoning patients, taking weights and measurements, updating electronic paper records where applicable and providing support to the Sister. Other duties will include welcoming patients and directing members of the public and staff queries appropriately. You will be instrumental in this role in helping to create a happy, efficient environment for service users and their families.
The successful applicant will have a positive attitude towards their work and be well subscribed to the Bradford Teaching Hospitals corporate trust values.

Main duties of the job
Working as part of the Children's Outpatients Nursing team, the successful candidate will focus on the provision of direct care and support to children and their families in an outpatient environment. The role will be based on the Paediatric Outpatients Department currently located at St Luke's Hospital and work with children and young people with different health and social care needs from a diverse community. The post holder will be an advocate for children and their families, promoting child focused, family centred care and providing effective liaison with the multi-disciplinary team and agencies involved within the child's care.The successful candidate will also heavily participates in teaching, mentoring and assessing of students, trainees and professional staff.

- Experience of working with children and young people with complex health care needs & conditions, providing nursing support to them & their families
- Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment
- Experience of mentoring Student Nurses/Trainee Nursing Associates or a commitment to complete the qualification within 18 months of starting in post.
