Specialist Practitioner/Complex Case Manager SEFTON

Band 8a

Permanent, full time hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sefton Enhanced Support Team (EST) for a Specialist Mental Health Practitioner/Clinical Psychologist with experience of complex case management to join our team. There is a full time position available to work with the team based at Magdalen House and Burlington House in Waterloo.

The Enhanced Support Team works with children and young people with complex needs who present with high risk behaviours, high harm behaviours and high vulnerability. They are likely to have difficulties in multiple domains (mental health, physical health, neurodevelopmental), which are persistent, severe and are framed by family and social contexts (family disruption, loss, ACEs). This may include for example, children and young people who are involved in youth justice services, not in education/training/employment, who engage in substance misuse, have multiple adverse childhood experiences, who have a learning disability and/or autism, or who engage in sexually harmful behaviour. These children and young people are likely to have been referred to multiple services, but are likely to struggle to engage.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing consultation specifically around advising, signposting and acceptance of appropriate referrals.

Undertaking mental health assessment of children and young people referred to the EST, offering a range of evidence based clinical interventions informed by assessed individual need.

Offering enhanced case formulations with the multi agency system around a young person, the post holder will provide support, advice and consultation to families, carers and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person.
