Apprentice School Aged Immunisation Administration

This new and exciting opportunity will be based in the School Aged Immunisation Helpdesk Hub at Workington Community Hospital, within the Woman's and Children's Collaborative. This is a varied and interesting role where you will get the opportunity to gain experience in record management, data quality and performance and general admin duties such as preparing documents, dealing with telephone enquiries and managing our digital health records and data management.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the School Aged Immunisation Programme to act as the first point of contact in relation to childhood vaccination programme queries. To carry out business support duties to support the School Aged Immunisation Teams. To deliver an effective and competent level of clerical support and consistently deliver a client-focused service which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships. A proactive, positive attitude is required and a commitment to high level of data quality and accuracy is essential, recognising the benefits of creativity and adaptability in a change environment. These skills will assist you in achieving your Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration which will be supported via set learning days.

The school aged immunisation programme is intended to prevent children from developing vaccine preventable diseases that are associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Vaccines are offered to children and young people and are delivered in school settings in line with national guidelines on an age and gender basis pertinent to the individual vaccine involved.
  • To provide high quality immunisation services to the community.
  • To work within North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS foundation Trust guidelines, protocols and policies.
  • To encourage and promote the growth of community development to meet agreed identified local need for children and their families.
  • To provide information, documentation and support in identifying the current public health aims.
  • To work in partnership with other agencies both statutory and voluntary to deliver heath improvement/protection programmes, as clearly identified..
  • To provide high quality immunisation services to the school age population of Cumbria.
  • To provide information, documentation and support in identifying the current public health aims.
  • To raise awareness within the community of the benefits of immunisation.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: �18 + Administration cost of �3.85 = �21.85. Deducted at �6.85 from 1st month salary and �5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: �38 + administration cost of �3.90 = �41.90. Deducted at �11.90 from 1st month salary and �10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Qualifications
