- An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior research nurse to join our Emergency Department research team.
- The postholder will work as a part of the embedded research delivery team in the ED Collaborative Research Group.
- The research group has more than 10 years of experience delivering clinical research and operates seven days a week screening and enrolling patients into studies in both adults and children.
- We offer lots of continuing professional development support including funding for conference attendance, clinical academic opportunities and training in writing for publication.

Main duties of the job
- You will work collaboratively with the Research Group Lead, Research Manager, Principal Investigators and research team to provide opportunities for patients to participate in research studies.
- You will manage and support the junior research staff within the team and support a mixed portfolio of studies and ensure capacity and capability to safely deliver research.
- As the team is embedded within the Emergency Department you will work closely with the clinical band 7 nurses and attend department meetings and training.
- There is a high level of clinical contact with major trauma and emergency care patients in this role so experience working in an emergency department is desirable although not essential.

Essential
- Registered General Nurse (Adult or Child)
- Completed post graduate qualification in speciality or clinical research related field
- Teaching & assessing qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- NMC pin number
Desirable
- Completed Master's degree in the speciality or related field or willing to work towards
Experience
Essential
- Experience of managing a complex clinical research workload at Band 6 or above
- Experience of handling complex relationships
- Experience of collaborating with other agencies
- Evidence of successfully working with and contributing to a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of developing others through CPD / PDR / clinical supervision
- Experience of formal/ informal teaching of patients and staff
- Experience and evidence of using highly developed motivational and negotiation skills to affect change.
- Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
- Working knowledge of legislation & guidelines relevant to clinical research
- Experience of working as a patients advocate

- Experience of radiation protection procedures
