An exciting opportunity for a Research Nurse to join full time - UCLH/UCL Research and Development Agile Workforce in supporting multiple specialty studies across UCLH Trust.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Nurse to become part of the Research and Development Agile Workforce at UCLH. The Research Nurse will provide exceptional specialist nursing care to a wide variety of patients across multiple specialties (Neurology, Women's health, Paediatrics, Infectious disease, and many others) and deliver different phases of research across the trust. This includes early phase clinical trials as well as larger scale multicentre studies.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail. The successful candidate will need willingness to learn and an interest in working across a range of specialties at UCLH/UCL.

The post holder will be supported by Senior Research Team within the unit, and the role is ideal for highly motivated individuals who are keen to develop their career in Clinical Research Nursing/Clinical Trials.

The post holders will work in close collaboration with Principal Investigators, Clinical Research Facility staff and Research Support Staff, to ensure compliance with Trust Policy, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Tissue Act (HTA), and trial specific protocols.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

  • For Research Nurse - Registered Nurse Part 1,2 12
  • Relevant post registration
  • Up to date GCP Training


Desirable

  • Teaching or mentor course


Experience

Essential

  • Post registration nursing experience
  • Clinical research experience
  • Experience in delivering evidence-based practice
  • Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
  • Clinical trials experience - Obtaining consent - IMP administration - Data entry - AE/SAE/AESI reporting
  • Experience of acting as a patient advocate
  • Experience working as a preceptor/facilitator
  • Experience in caring of complex and acutely ill patients


Desirable

  • Experience of formal/ informal teaching of patients and staff
  • Experience of phlebotomy, cannulation, and management of central lines
  • Previous experience in audit and evaluation
  • Knowledge of Trust research governance issues
  • Maintaining Investigator Site File
