This is an exciting opportunity to join a female acute ward. This role will be overseeing staff and working as part of the ward management team as a deputy ward manager.

Job description Job responsibilities
To manage and very busy and dynamic ward as part of the management team.
To work with, promote and contribute to the development of appropriate models of inpatient care.
To contribute to the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care within the context of the care programme approach.
To provide supervision and clinical leadership to junior nursing staff, to ensure effective delivery of programmes of care for the patients on the caseload.
To report and identify service deficit limitations/development opportunity to senior colleagues.
To monitor the well being of patients and contribute to the development of practice in relation to protecting individuals whose health and well being is at risk.
To ensure effective communication with the multi disciplinary team, service users and carers about programmes of care and routine or complex matters
To manage safeguarding and complex case management on a busy female acute ward.

- To provide a leading role within a multi-disciplinary team involved with the clinical management of patients with mental health problems within an inpatient setting.
- To provide professional and clinical leadership to the team, taking a supportive role to the Ward Manager for the responsibility for the planning and provision of 24 hour inpatient care.
- To maintain and develop high standards of care appertaining to the mental and physical well being of patients and promoting a person centred approach to patients.
