**14month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship **

The Radiology Admin & Clerical team looking for a flexible and motivated individual to join our team as a Level 2 Apprentice.

The Radiology department sits within the Diagnostic and Clinical Support Services division and provides diagnostic imaging and therapeutic treatments across a range of specialties across the Trust.

We are looking for someone that is passionate about providing an exemplary service, to work as part of a dynamic team helping to a deliver a safe and effective Radiology service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a systemic and methodical way, using on their own initiative, be conscientious, and have excellent interpersonal communication and customer care skills. Applicants will have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise workload.

The apprenticeship is a key role in supporting the reception and bookings teams. The role will include attending patients for their appointments across a range of modalities and their respective reception desks, booking appointments, dealing with patient queries by phone and providing general office assistance.

The role requires shift work on a roster basis. Shifts times vary with the earliest starting at 7am and the latest finishing at 8pm, Monday to Sunday.

Main duties of the job

3 key responsibilities of this role are:

1. Schedule Imaging appointments for a range of modalities Ultrasound, X-Ray, CT, and MRI. This includes calling patients to agree the appointment date and time, giving directions and providing relevant information in preparation for their scan.

2. Assisting with calls and supporting the team to manage voicemails and emails.

3. Covering reception desks to arrive patients for their appointments and assist with queries, and following additional training, covering coordinating desks which involves liaising with wards and portering services to arrange inpatient scheduling.

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete yourCustomer Service Practitioner Level 2 qualification within the duration of the placement.

Job responsibilities

All applicants must be:
  • Aged 16+
  • Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years
  • Must not have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or above
  • Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education upon the start of their apprenticeship

Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Good general standard of education
  • 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above (or equivalent) subject to the job specification
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills

  • 4 GCSE's at D/3 or above (ideally to include Maths and English).
  • To undertake and successfully complete the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard within 14 month contract.
