An exciting opportunity has arisen within a high functioning, exceptional Recruitment Team in an outstanding NHS Trust for a Recruitment Team Leader. Main duties of the job

To support and lead the Resourcing Team in creating an environment through which the team continuously improves and strives to provide service excellence. To support the team in their efforts to deliver tangible improvements in the quality of the service offered in line with Trust objectives. To support the Resourcing Management Team in achieving the business objectives and recruitment and retention strategy, whilst promoting a strong customer focused environment. To create and instill a proactive approach, dealing with escalated and complex queries when required.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To support the Resourcing Management Team in the delivery of the Trusts requirements.
  • To supervise a cohort of the Resourcing team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring maximum efficiency of service placing an emphasis on the proactive delivery of a high-quality customer service.
  • Be able to work on own initiative, making rationalised decisions within their designated team, whilst working in line with internal policies and set standards and procedures.
  • Together with the Resourcing Management Team, be responsible for attendance and performance management for a cohort of the team.
  • To independently undertake, analyse and co-ordinate projects and reports at the request of the Resourcing Management Team, to include enforcing team KPIs and SLAs that are set out for the team. When required, collating ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders to utilise for their business performance requirements.
  • Assist with the introduction and maintenance of standards of performance within the team to ensure a consistent and professional service is provided.
  • Manage the training and development needs for all members of the team, including the induction of new starters into the department.
  • Responsible for conducting effective and timely 1-1s and appraisals as appropriate and in line with the Trust requirements. To do this through the provision of an appraisal and personal development plan and effective performance and attendance management as appropriate.
  • To attend and when required chair, departmental meetings with the remit to raise, discuss and improve elements of the resourcing service whilst encouraging team members to participate and allowing for team feedback.
  • Required to handle sensitive information such as unsatisfactory references or DBS certificate data and communicate sensitively with all parties involved, to ensure the correct outcome is reached. Supporting other team members with queries around withdrawing of earlier conditional offers of employment and working with the appointing manager to make an informed decision, supported by the Resourcing Management Team when required.
  • To deputise for the Resourcing Management Team at corporate events and meetings, arranging venues and planning recruitment open days alongside recruiting managers, as and when required. Supporting the Resourcing Management Team to provide guidance and knowledge for internal stakeholders around event planning to maximise attraction to specific posts.
  • Together with the Resourcing Management Team, be responsible for the development of the service by reviewing processes and procedures within the team, identifying and implementing changes for improvement
  • To schedule time with high volume recruiters in service, to ensure that feedback from managers is fed back into the department and that any subsequently identified improvements are accommodated.
  • To ensure that all employment checks are documented and carried out in accordance with the NHS Employers Employment Check Standards and the Trust Recruitment Policy, promoting best practice, updating changes to practice and addressing issues of non-compliance promptly. This will include:
    • Criminal record, vetting and barring
    • Employment history and reference checks
    • Occupational health checks
    • Professional registration and qualification checks
    • Right to work
    • Verification of identity
  • Be responsible for providing guidance and support for potential recruits and appointing managers where there is a requirement to discuss queries around right to work in the UK, requesting Certificates of Sponsorship and liaising with the UKVI to ensure that correct policies and procedures are being followed by the Trust.
  • To provide support for the Resourcing Coordinators in relation to using the SMS UKVI system to record migrant information and request Certificates of Sponsorships for candidates.
  • To manage escalated complaints, responding promptly and adopting procedures to ensure that re-occurrence is eliminated. Resolving as appropriate through re-training and development of skill sets.
  • To actively promote the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda within agreed work streams so ensuring our strategies for securing effective equality, diversity and inclusion within the workforce are integrated into the overall resourcing strategy.
  • To oversee the use and development of TRAC e-recruitment system as an expert user.
  • To support the Resourcing Management Team with the operational delivery of volume recruitment campaigns, from candidate attraction through to assessment and batch offers, liaising with SBU Team Leaders on a regular basis to manage the process closely. To take the lead for identified responsibilities and coordinate the delivery of key stages through team members.
  • To manage the payment of invoices through the PMS system relating to any work undertaken externally to support the resourcing function, maintaining call off statuses and escalating to the Resourcing Management Team if required
  • To produce regular feedback reports and management information on recruitment activity from both an SBU and Corporate perspective.
  • To assist the production of written resource such as Standard Operating Procedures and Processes to underpin the effective service delivery of recruitment for the Trust.
  • To manage and monitor the levels of customer service provided by the Resourcing team.
  • To create a culture of cross-covering and multi-skilling within the Resourcing team in order to ensure continuity of service to users.
  • To take ownership of and manage selected divisional work when required, to support the overall output of the Resourcing service.

    • oEducated to NVQ5 or equivalent and/or with equivalent level of relevant experience.


    Experience

    • Experience of working in a supervisory role within a recruitment service environment or team.
    • Proven experience of planning and coordinating workload, monitoring staff contributions and reviewing delivery against objectives.
    • Experience of working ina customer service Environment delivering added value candidate management against agreed quality standards.
    • Experience of working to tight deadlines and delivering results under pressure.


    Desirable

    • Experience of TRAC (applicant tracking system)
    • Experience of organising and delivering assessment and selection exercises, in particular assessment centres
    • Experience of analysing operational issues and making systematic and rational judgements based on relevant information.
    • Experience of producing written guidance/ processes.
