Following significant new investment, we have one remaining half time vacancy to complete our friendly, enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapy stroke team here in East BCUHB. We are looking for a suitably experienced and dynamic band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to jointly provide clinical leadership for the team and deliver expert clinical care. Main duties of the job

We are looking for a clinical specialist SLT to work on our acute stroke unit who can support and develop SLTs and TIs, represent SLT within the MDT and drive the future development of excellent stroke services. You will work with the dedicated stroke MDT to develop high quality care pathways and MDT training plans, contributing to building a culture of research and development, with strong links to our local Universities here in North Wales. For this key clinical role, we are looking for a passionate SLT with a clinical background in stroke and with skills in clinical leadership including developing the skills and knowledge of others.

In this role, you will also be part of the friendly and supportive Adult SLT team where there is a wide range of expertise and experience. You will join a growing team of SLTs and technical instructors. There is excellent peer support.

We have regular team meetings and have strong links with other specialist services. Clinical supervision is actively encouraged and there are regular cross team CPD and training opportunities as you continue to develop and hone your clinical skills. There is access to Videofluoroscopy and FEES. You will lead a range of service improvements and MDT initiatives are encouraged.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in S& lt HCPC registered Post graduate study relevant to clinical area at Masters level or equivalent demonstrable experience at this level Able to demonstrate continuing professional development e.g. up to date, relevant CPD portfolio. Clinical supervisory experience


Desirable

  • Membership of appropriate clinical network group
  • Other professional or academic qualification which relates to clinical practice
  • Accredited Practice Placement Educator Certificate
