An exciting opportunity has opened for two experienced radiographers with a UK recognised mammography qualification to join our friendly clinical training team, and the wider multi-disciplinary team at Nottingham. You will have current mammography experience and hold Health Care Professions Council registration. A full UK driving license and use of a vehicle is essential.
The Nottingham International Breast Education Centre (NIBEC) is one of the leading training centres in the United Kingdom, with over 60% of UK professionals involved in screening and symptomatic breast services having attended courses here.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality practical mammography training, for preparing, delivering, and assessing academic course components and for maintaining the exceptional reputation of NIBEC. We deliver a range of post-graduate modules, study days, and an associate practitioner apprenticeship. You will undertake mammographic imaging at a high standard, inclusive of advanced image techniques and will train a range of individuals alongside breast screening and symptomatic clinical duties at the Nottingham Breast Institute and our other static and mobile sites. Patient care is at the heart of everything we do.
Mammography posts have a gendered protected character, due to the nature of the work. This is an occupational requirement, as a result the post is exempt under section 9 part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 and therefore only female applicants should apply

Practical mammography training of Radiographers and Assistant/Associate Practitioners from the UK and overseas.
Appraisal of trainee Mammographers' clinical work, both on site and at the student's base.
Contribute to the preparation and delivery of courses in Mammography at NIBEC.
Contribute to the theoretical assessment of students attending courses at NIBEC.
Teach and mentor assistant/associate practitioners and junior radiography staff, and advise the Radiology Service Manager and Training & Education Manager on training requirements to ensure that mammography standards are maintained.
Actively promote the culture of life-long learning within the department.
Mammography examinations on symptomatic and asymptomatic patients at both static and mobile sites, to a high standard.
Specialised mammography techniques including stereotactic localisation at screening and symptomatic assessment clinics, digital breast tomosynthesis, and contrast enhanced spectral mammography.
Plan and prioritise own workload in order to maintain service and clinic workflow, alongside practical mammography training.
Provide a high standard of patient care and communication.

The Nottingham Breast institute provides outpatient symptomatic services and delivers breast screening to a screening population of over 100,000 women at 2 static and 2 mobile sites. You will work alongside our experienced team of advanced practitioners, radiographers and assistant/associate practitioners in both screening and symptomatic mammography and you will contribute to our family history, breast cancer surveillance and screening assessment clinics completing Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography and Digital Breast Tomosynthesis examinations.

Mammography Provision
- Mammography examinations on symptomatic and asymptomatic patients at both static and mobile sites.

- To consistently carry out mammography examinations to a standard which meets the NHSBSP Quality Assurance Guidelines for Mammography.

- BSc Radiography / DCR, or equivalent

- Significant experience of working as a mammographer on both screening and symptomatic settings.
- Recent experience working as a mammographer in a breast care setting
