Public Health Nursing Team Manager
30 hrs per week / All Year Round

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a new leader to join the operational management team for Public Health School Health Nursing, Team, this post will initially provide management to School Nursing services, but you will be expected to provide managerial cover within LAC and Immunisation Team as required.
The candidate should be a motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) - (NMC part 3) with excellent knowledge, skills, experience and proven leadership qualities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to provide clinical leadership, direction and encourage development of the teams in order to improve quality and shape services and monitor performance within their teams.
The role will support teams to ensure effective implementation of A School Nursing Framework for Wales (2017) , the Healthy Child Wales Programme (0-7) / and School Age Children, NHS Wales Health Assessment Framework for Looked After Children.
This is an excellent opportunity for leadership and professional development within a dynamic and forward thinking service, which have an ethos of compassion, inclusion and innovation.

Job responsibilities
Principle duties include:
To support and facilitate the provision of effective, efficient and appropriate high quality services to the area population.
To lead a team within Public Health Nursing, ensuring the staff feel valued and are facilitated to maintain their personal and professional development, through a process of P.D.P and Clinical Supervision.
Contribute to Health Board and local service developments linked to Public Health Nursing and the Family and Therapy Division.
Operational management of School Health Nurses/LAC Nurses (cover for Immunisation team) through strong leadership and transformational management.
Act as the link between the Local Health Board, Local Authority and other external agencies and partners.
To promote evidence based practices and act as a role model.
To develop and implement policies and procedures as appropriate in line with national and local guidelines and recommendations.
To facilitate any change process in partnership with practitioners.
To deputise management cover with Immunisations & LAC.
Provide nursing leadership and operational management both directly and indirectly for the nursing teams and give clear guidance and support to enable effective management and leadership of the service.
The post holder will contribute to the Clinical and Risk Governance agenda for Public Health Services.
