Are you interested in working with adults with learning disabilities?
We are seeking an experienced Psychology Assistant to support the Psychology staff within the Community Learning Disability Teams for Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established team, to support the running and further development of the 'living well with dementia pathway', and support the team with regular formulation sessions for the wider service.
The post holder will work across the Hull and East Riding, under supervision from a qualified psychologist.
We are looking for a highly motivated, confident assistant psychologist who has a strong interest in working with people with learning disabilities and who enjoys value-based and person-centred practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder needs good organisational, communication and planning abilities in order to ensure that the pathways run smoothly and all clients receive timely support.
Applicants need to have experience in using psychometric assessments with people with learning disabilities, as they will play a role in completing direct assessments of learning disabilities and dementia.
Applicants will need to be equipped with a strong sense of responsibility and leadership as a psychology representative within the wider multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will be part of a friendly and supportive group of psychologists and psychotherapists, with opportunities for CPD in many different areas of specialism. The psychology department also has strong links with the University of Hull.
The post will provide the opportunity to contribute to service-based evaluation and audit, service development and teaching/training. As a department, we are actively trying to develop our research activity.
