Intensive Support Team (IST)Community Learning Disability Nurse Band 6 PostPermanent 1.0wteLocation - Morecambe Bay
We are looking for a nurse with the passion and clinical skills to be part of our valuable service. The Intensive Support team helps people with learning disabilities stay safe in the community.The team is led by a consultant Nurse, and operates through a clinical MDTcomprising of nursing, psychology and AHP clinicians, all dedicated to supporting ateam caseload of people needing intensive support.Being a nurse in the IST gives you the opportunity to:- Focus more on direct patient interventions- Help the most vulnerable people at risk of care breakdown or hospitaladmission.- Be part of an innovative team frequently developing evidenced basedpathways- Develop your clinical skills around positive behavioural support, riskmanagement, managing mental health conditions, and building independent living skills
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a service that prides itself on the continuous development of employees, and there is a clear nursing development framework within the service.
Post holders are expected to work 4 days per week, over two long shifts (8-8) and two standard shifts, which include rotating weekend cover.A means of transport is essential and applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Person Specification Education Essential
- Registered Learning Disability Nurse with current NMC Registration.
- 2 -3 years' post-registration experience
- Knowledge of contemporary health learning disability policy
- Knowledge and skills in the assessment / management of risk
- Demonstrates reflective practice.
- Ability to support people who have a learning disability and/or Autism on an individual and group basis.
- Working with individuals who challenge.
