This post is fixed term / secondment for 12 months due to Maternity Cover.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to take on the role of Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist working in orthopaedic clinic with one of our orthopaedic lower limb surgeon within Central area of BCUHB.
The post is to work alongside the orthopaedic consultant in their orthopaedic clinics and to review patients post operatively. The post holder will also provide advice and training as appropriate to physiotherapy colleagues working with centre area physiotherapy service.
The post holder will work as an autonomous, extended scope practitioner, with an extended scope of physiotherapy practice to work within a team to deliver a clinical specialist service to patients under the care of the orthopaedic consultant.
The physiotherapy service in BCUHB offers a whole career pathway to Band 8A as a clinical advanced practitioner. Service improvement and development is encouraged and all staff have access to regular supervision and training.
This is an opportunity to work in a large established and supportive team in a beautiful part of the UK.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
1. To take a clinical lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients where the caseload will comprise of mainly patients with complex presentations.
2. To work as an autonomous, clinical specialist physiotherapist. To work with the advanced practitioner physiotherapist to develop and deliver a high quality clinical service throughout BCUHB. Leading by example provide a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment of patients in a variety of locations.
3. To develop competencies for frontline clinical staff within the section in order to assess clinically reason and effectively treat routine cases and identify those with complex needs where support may be required. Support staff to develop skills to identify potential serious pathology in patients referred for physiotherapy.
4. To provide an ongoing rolling training programme and support package to develop appropriate knowledge and skills in the workforce within the specialism and rotational staff base.
