We are delighted to be recruiting to the role of Care Services Team Nurse Lead, which will be working across the Royal Devon University Healthcare Trust footprint of Northern and Eastern services. This post is instrumental in bringing together and aligning the educational programmes that these teams are delivering to care home and care providers across Devon.
The post holder will provide leadership and development for the Care Services Team to ensure a skilled, knowledgeable and proactive workforce, to meet the changing Health and Social Care education and prevention agenda.

We are seeking a Nurse Team Manager to oversee the newly merging Care Services Team, formerly consisting of the separate Eastern Care Services Team and Northern Care Homes Team. The post holder will line manage Healthcare Professionals within the team, consisting of Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing and reporting on performance of the Care Services team, ensuring best and most effective use of resource to achieve maximum impact. They will have a focus on service quality seeking continuous innovation in the way the team deliver the education agenda and support to care home safeguarding processes to ensure excellence in their work, for the benefit of local Care Homes and Devon residents.
The team are based across the Eastern and Northern footprint so the post holder's base is to be confirmed depending on the location of the successful applicant possible options include Great Moor House or Newcourt in Exeter, Barnstaple Hospital, or Tiverton District Hospital. There will be an expectation of travel across the Eastern/Northern footprint to meet the needs of the service, which is delivered remotely and in person in Care Homes across the county.
There will be opportunities for audit, and evidence based work to upskill, educate and develop our community colleagues in their desire to harness and promote care and knowledge. This is to support the agenda of providing the right care at the right time, in the right place, to the right person, thus developing better outcomes for Care Home residents and care recipients in our increasingly complex and ageing population.
You will liaise with experts in their fields aligning the resources, and work across the Community Care Group and the organisation to ensure that we are following the strategic pathway. You will take the lead in forums in relation to the work, to learn and apply best practices, alongside being responsive to the identified needs of the Care Homes, as well as national agendas such as Restore 2 training, Frailty, and End of Life care and support.
The post holder will demonstrate a passion and drive for working in the community settings, and an understanding of the benefits of this proactive approach, further developing multi-professional team working and a desire to improve care and avoidable Hospital admissions.
An ability to understand and interpret data and utilise electronic systems is also key to this role.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (e.g. 8:30 - 16:30 - some flexibility required on occasion)
