We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic senior assistant psychologist, who is passionate about working with people who have an eating disorder, and wants to help us make a difference to the people of Greater Manchester. The role is within an adult community-based eating disorder service. We take a holistic MDT approach to supporting people who have an eating disorder.The role will have some focused clinical work, supervised by a clinical psychologist, and will also support our FREED early intervention pathway.
We have two community eating disorders services within the Trust, and the current post is based at Gaskell House in Manchester. Psychological therapy is central to our teams and how we help people, offering various therapeutic models, in individual and group formats. Alongside psychology, we also have psychiatry and dietetics in the team, as well as mental health practitioners, a physician associate, specialist doctor, and a support worker. We are proud to offer an early intervention FREED pathway, as well as support for carers and loved ones.

Main duties of the job
The role will form an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, and will include providing individual and group clinical interventions. As part of this, the role will include supporting the delivery of our FREED early intervention pathway, co-facilitating psychological therapy groups, the delivery of brief manualised psychological interventions for people who have eating disorders, and supporting coordination and input of data collection across the service.
Experience in working work people who experience eating disorders is desirable, but not essential, and training and support will be provided.

Job responsibilities
Delivery of brief manualised psychological interventions for people who experience eating disorders
To co-facilitate the running of psychological therapy groups
Supporting the FREED early intervention pathway, including making engagement calls to clients to check eligibility
To ensure psychologically relevant resource material is available to clients waiting for treatment. To support the development and delivery of agreed waiting well initiatives.
When required, to assist with assessments / reviews / consultations by administering self-report measures, rating scales, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in clients care, all under supervision.
To be involved in the development and evaluation of psychologically informed interventions
To document clinical records in accordance with Trust policy and to contribute towards care planning
To contribute to appropriate multidisciplinary meetings, ward meetings and to liaise with family / carers, other staff and agencies
