We welcome applications from newly qualified clinical psychologists on a band 7 preceptorship.
We are currently looking for someone to join our Clinical Neuropsychology team in Canterbury, East Kent. The Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service is one of the largest neuropsychology departments in the country, providing support to patients in both inpatient and community settings. We have a strong rehabilitation ethos, with clinicians providing specialist neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation and psychological therapy in a range of approaches.
Main duties of the job
You would be joining our community team, supporting people with acquired brain injury and long term neurological conditions living in East Kent. The role is mainly clinic based but does involve home visits. There is scope to provide some remote working including video and telephone appointments. You will be providing specialist neuropsychological assessments and feedback on cognitive difficulties and management strategies.
Our work involves supporting people in their neuro rehabilitation. This includes psychological support to adjust to diagnosis and symptom management. We provide psychoeducation, cognitive rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and psychological therapy. We often work with families and other staff groups in order to meet the goals of the people we work with.

The post is based in the cosmopolitan and vibrant city of Canterbury which boasts excellent high-speed (one hour) links to London. Canterbury sits within beautiful countryside and is in close proximity to many beaches.
The Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service are a large department with a wealth of clinical knowledge and experience. There are lots of opportunities for further training and to experience a range of different clinical roles and settings. It is a supportive team offering regular management and clinical supervision, peer supervision, in house CPD and external training in therapies and neuropsychology. There are frequent opportunities to work alongside colleagues in other services and specialities. We are a sociable team and there are regular opportunities to meet.
We have strong links with the Salomons Clinical Psychology doctorate and provide support to trainees through research and clinical placements. There are many opportunities to teach on several of our professionals and client based education programmes.

- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
- HCPC registered
- 1 year minimum experience in clinical neuropsychology
- Minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision
- Training in providing clinical supervision
- Evidence of providing clinical supervision
- Further training in clinical neuropsychology
- Evidence of working with people with brain injury or neurological conditions
- Evidence of working with people with brain injury or neurological conditions in a community rehabilitation team
- Evidence of providing training to other staff and patients
- Evidence of conducting clinical audit and research
- Evidence of providing consultation to staff teams
