We are seeking an enthusiastic Clincal Psychologist to provide a systematic and high-quality Clinical Psychology service for children and young people with complex learning disabilities or global developmental delay, challenging behaviour and mental health needs and other co-morbid difficulties, e.g. anxiety, problematic behaviour, and sleep.
This post is based in the Portsmouth Child and Adolescent Health Service Learning disability multi-disciplinary team. This post will provide assessment and psychological therapy to children and young people with learning disability, challenging behaviour and associated mental health needs.
The successful candidate will actively participate in service evaluation, audit and outcome measurement to ensure that the locality team delivers high quality evidence-based interventions and will be expected to participate in regular clinical as well as line management supervision.
For this post, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.
CAMHS-LD is a Multi-Disciplinary Service providing a range of effective, evidence-based assessments, treatments and support for children and young people (0-18) from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds who experience behavioural, emotional and/or mental health difficulties. Types of disorders include: Anxiety, Depression, Self-Harm, difficulties with carrying out routine/repeated behaviours, challenging behaviour and (assessment of) Neurodevelopmental difference. There is a very strong focus on partnership working with the children and young people, their families, primary care, health and education services, social care, adult services, and the voluntary sector. Service Aims are to Improve quality of life for young people with LD & their families and to minimise intensity, frequency, duration & impact of Challenging Behaviour & Mental Health difficulties in young people with a Learning Disability.
