We have vacancies for a number of qualified Health Visitors to join our existing team of Health Visitors working in Peterborough.
As a qualified Health Visitor, you will be working in a well-supported skill mix team to deliver a universal Healthy Child Programme targeting those with additional needs. We enjoy excellent working relationships with our partner agencies and work together to ensure families receive a seamless service. We deliver services in client's homes, Children's Centres and other community settings.
Main duties of the job
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.

- The post holder has continuing responsibility for an identified caseload and is committed to the development of an effective high quality service to designated families with pre- school children and infants.
- The post holder will use evidenced based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in line with the Healthy Child Programme, addressing inequalities in health and maintaining excellent links with relevant agencies.
- This vacancy is open to newly qualified SCPHN Health Visitors as well as experienced practitioners.

- Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information for families and the wider multiagency team.
- To establish and maintain relationships with clients and wider teammembers. To communicate highly sensitive condition related information including child abuse, to clients, relatives, and the wider multiagency team.
- To interact with other team members throughout the Health Visiting Team, wider childrens services, and other external agencies.
- Lead and direct Health Visiting and Childrens Centre teams in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, while facilitating and empowering decision making within teams. Lead and implement policies, which inform and develop practice, while influencing strategies and policies, which improve health and reduce inequalities. This can be undertaken at a strategic level through health needs assessment.
- Assess the physical emotional and developmental needs of infants and children within the context of the family and community environment.
- Assess the need for further support for disadvantaged families and those in need of safeguarding.
- Assess the health needs of a defined geographical community andparticular target groups in relation to young children and their families.
- Manage analyse and communicate data and information relating to health.
- Plan, organise and evaluate straightforward and complex activities orprogrammes. Plan and organise own workload and child health clinics.
