Cottage ward are looking for an experienced, courageous, ambitious, and responsive Registered Nurse to join our team as Ward Manager.

Cottage ward provides care for patients requiring rehabilitation. The ward works with a Multidisciplinary team approach to providing excellent patient care for patients, offering support to families time to talk to your patient, build relationships, and be part of their recovery from admission to discharge.

If you have excellent clinical, communication and leadership skills and would like a new challenge within a community setting this would be an ideal post . Full support and induction would be given to the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

  • Behave consistently with values and beliefs of the organization, promoting these at all times.
  • Act as a role model to colleagues, seeking to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Use their initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their work and the service they provide to patients.
  • Lead & manage hospital ward. Responsible for ward budget and overall responsibility for line management of staff within the ward. The role will require a high level of leadership and utilisation of motivational, innovation and change management skills.
  • Be an experienced clinician/therapist and be responsible for providing expert knowledge and skills to more junior members of the team and the provision of more complex care planning and care provision.
  • Be an integral member of the ward team, work collaboratively with all services and agencies, to facilitate patients in achieving maximum independence.
  • Have continuing responsibility for the designated ward

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RN1),
  • Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), Registered Nurse (Mental) (RN(M)), Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
  • Degree / Diploma and working towards a first level degree
  • Mentor award
  • Evidence of on-going continual professional development
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
