Band 7 Urology Nurse Practitioner
An exciting has opportunity has arisen fortwo enthusiastic, flexible, reliable and motivated individuals to join our nurse practitioner team as Band 7 Urology Nurse Practitioners. The expansion of the team will allow for seven day/week working to support the needs of the service.
The roles will include working very closely with the MDT, supporting the urology take, reviewing urology patients in assessment unit, clinics and the ward. The candidate should have excellent communication and time management skills as they will be working as an autonomous practitioner and managing own case load.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
- Assess and treat patients in our the Emergency Unit and Surgical Same Day Emergency Care (SSDEC) for a range of urological emergencies, such as urinary retention, renal colic, blocked catheters and nephrostomy tube care
- Support the University Health Board (UHB) to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, to improve patient safety and the experience of the patient
- Lead the daily management of a group of patients working closely with the urology consultants
- Be an autonomous practitioner in the discharge of patients having had specific urological investigations, including the timely review and timely discharge of clinically optimised inpatients, to support the flow of patients
- Act as an expert resource in education and clinical practice
- Participate in multi-professional research and audit within secondary care
- Develop and aid in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and protocols.

- Degree level qualification
- MSc or equivalent experience

- Independent Prescribing module

- Evidence of maintaining clinical expertise
