We have an exciting opportunity to join the Cancer Outpatient Team. We are looking for an inspiring individual to join our team in this pivotal role to provide clinical expertise and visible leadership to create a positive patient experience. You should have a specialist interest in Oncology and Haematology conditions.

You will be working closely with the Cancer Outpatient Matron in collaborating with the Clinical Nurse Specialists, Medical and Operational Teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop management and project management skills. Aspects of the role can include bleep holding, nurse led clinics and undertaking interviewing.

You will be working Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

To act as a positive role model, promote effective teamwork and encourage continuous improvement in across outpatients or the trust.

To be flexible in supporting outpatients clinics in managing and leading teams in maintaining a standard of excellence in the care we deliver to our patients and support our colleagues

To ensure safety standards are met continuously, policies are followed and lead on our trust culture of being open and honest in order to learn and improve our patients experience in Outpatients where able.

• Registered nurse with significant previous experience.
• Evidence of maintaining a portfolio in accordance with revalidation requirements.

Desirable

• Introduction to Management course.
• Evidence of a teaching/mentoring qualification.
• Degree.

Experience

• Sound clinical practice in patient care working within Oncology / Haematology.
• Evidence of mentorship/preceptorship roles.
• Accept personal accountability for own practice.
• Experience of formal/informal teaching.
