We are seeking a dynamic individual who can provide robust clinical leadership, to support safe and effective care for our valued service users and help shape the future of community nursing. We're thrilled to invite you to join our dedicated team as a Community Nurse Educator for our Out of Hours Service.

As a pivotal member of our community nursing team, you will play a key role in instilling a culture of continuous learning. Collaborating closely with our leadership team and fellow nurse educators, you will be instrumental in maximising learning and development opportunities throughout our diverse portfolio.

The successful candidate will not only share clinical knowledge and expertise but will also provide group supervision to pre and post-registration nurses within the community nursing team. Utilising case studies derived from previous incidents and evidence, you'll contribute to a rich learning environment.

You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, equipped with outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Your ability to question and challenge existing practices will be a driving force in our commitment to continuous improvement.

Your impact extends beyond our team to collaboration with the clinical training unit. Ensure our workforce stays ahead of the curve by liaising with the training team, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge and skills to meet evolving demands and embrace new technologies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for embedding a learning culture across the community nursing service, working closely with the leadership team and other nurse educators to ensure opportunities for learning and development are maximised across the community nursing portfolios.
  • Being a senior member of the community nursing team they will share clinical knowledge, expertise and advice and provide group supervision to pre and post-registration nurses in the community nursing team using case studies to learn from incidents complaints investigations new evidence etc.
  • Working within the community nursing team ensuring robust business continuity plans are in place and will contribute to service delivery to ensure business continuity.
  • Working closely with other MPFT services and external partners to support the development and delivery of effective care pathways. Liaising with the clinical training team to ensure that the workforce has the appropriate knowledge and skills and access to training to meet changing demands and emerging technology/new procedures.
  • Works closely with the leadership team and clinical training team to co-ordinate access to formal training programmes, acting as a named mentor for specialist practice students and providing group supervision to cohorts on degree pathways i.e. enhanced clinical practice specialist practice to ensure clear links are established between taught courses and clinical practice.

Person Specification

Training

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree (Masters Level)
  • Current NMC registration
  • Post graduate qualification in nursing related subject and evidence of further education, training and development in role
  • Registered Mentor/Assessor


Desirable

  • Teaching qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of developing and delivering training using a variety of methods
  • Experience of assessment and management of people with long term conditions & complex physical health needs


Desirable

  • Quality Improvement experience
