We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly skilled clinician to lead our expanding clinical musculoskeletal assessment and treatment service (CMATS) and first contact practitioner (FCP) service across Powys.

This role requires a forward thinking clinician with the skills to combine specialist clinical practice with operational leadership, utilising innovation to develop these services in line with our MSK transformation program for Powys.

As a service lead you will have demonstrable leadership qualities, excellent communication and time management skills, with proven abilities to build relationships across all primary and secondary care stakeholders.

The operational responsibilities of this role will be Powys wide, however, the base location and sites for clinical sessions can be negotiated. Training opportunities will be available for the right candidate in line with service needs.

Main duties of the job

To undertake operational day to day management and leadership for the CMATS and FCP within Powys.

Assist the Professional Head of Physiotherapy and Musculoskeletal (MSK)Consultant Physiotherapist in planning, developing, and ensuring delivery of the CMATS and FCP services across the whole of Powys.

Responsible for assessing, treating own specialist caseload of patients within CMATS and/or FCP clinics depending on service need.

Maintain and facilitate continuing professional development for self and staff by researching and implementing good practice and ongoing development in the field of MSK Physiotherapy, including staff appraisals.

Providing advice, guidance, and teaching for members of the multi-disciplinary team across primary, community and secondary care within Powys.

Work with the Professional Head of Physiotherapy in meeting performance management requirements for the service, including caseload and waiting list management.

Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations and policies relating to the developments of the CMATS and FCP services.

You will be expected to work with and advise the Consultant MSK Physiotherapist and Professional Head of Physiotherapy to inform future service development and will jointly ensure that the services delivered comply with the requirements of clinical governance.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

• Master's level qualification or equivalent experience in relevant speciality
• BSc Hons degree/diploma in Physiotherapy
• HCPC registered
• Leadership/management qualification/training or equivalent senior management experience
• Post graduate training and practice relevant to clinical area
• Knowledge of audit and research and its application to physiotherapy
• Clinical experience as a non-medical referrer
• Accredited Injection therapy qualification

• Membership of Professional Body

• Non-medical prescriber
