We are seeking newly qualified and experienced applied psychologists to join our Psychology team within community and in-patient Dementia and Frailty Services of BSMHFT, providing mental health services to older people in the culturally and socially diverse population of Birmingham and Solihull. Newly Qualified Psychologists or those expecting to qualify in 2024 are encouraged to apply as posts could be offered as a Preceptorship. We offer a tailored programme of continued professional development (CPD) and other developmental opportunities to support your progression and career development.

We have several posts available in in-patient and community mental health teams which could be offered full-time, part-time, or combined, offering flexibility in working hours and the focus of work. Please get in touch with us to discuss our vacancies and the opportunities within the service.

Academic/Professional

Essential

  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology


Desirable

  • HCPC Registration Practitioner psychologist


Clinical Skills

Essential

  • Psychological assessment and Therapy with severe mental health problems


Desirable

  • Post qualification experience and skills in assessment and therapy


Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of ageing and how ageing impacts mental health


Desirable

  • Post qualification cpd in ageing and mental health or neuropsychological assessment


Leadership skills

Essential

  • Experience of leadership roles ie supervision/service improvement


Desirable

  • CPD in provision of supervision or service improvement
