This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a highly regarded and forward thinking, lung cancer nursing team.
You will assist in providing help, support, and signposting to patients on various stages of the lung cancer pathway.
Main duties of the job
To support patients, families and carers who are undergoing investigations for lung cancer.
To provide verbal, written, emotional and psychological support for out patients and in patients who have been referred into our trust on suspicion of having a lung cancer.
To act as a resource for ward nurses, AHP's and junior doctors who are caring for Lung cancer patients.
To work independently and as a part of a team and being aware of your own limitations and scope of practice.
To liaise with other professionals at various levels to ensure seamless transfer of care within hospital and other community settings.

- *Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register .
- *2 years post registration adult experience in either Respiratory, Thoracic, Oncology or Palliative care.
- *Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to degree / masters level equivalent FHEQ Level 6 /7
- *Recognised mentorship course

- *Where required for the role willingness to undertake training and education to support the role of Non-medical prescriber

- *Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
- *Significant post registration experience. with evidence of passion/ enthusiasm and knowledge for the associated area of specialist practice
- *Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/ competence.
- *Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality
- *Experience and enthusiasm for teaching / assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting.
