An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Swansea Bay UHB School Nursing and Looked After Children service for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Looked after Childrens team. The post holder will be a registered nurse who is highly motivated to develop and innovate the Looked After Childrens agenda in line with our statutory responsibilities.
The post holder will support the lead nurse on the professional agenda and will have excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills, and will uphold the Values of Swansea Bay University Health Board of Caring for Each Other, Working Together and Always Improving whilst ensuring the service is delivered in line with children's rights. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and have experience of communicating with multiagency partners.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist care, advice, guidance and leadership, and take responsibility for a specialist nursing service (Looked After Children) using their advanced clinical knowledge and experience with a high level of skill and theoretical knowledge to ? Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care.? Provide expert advice and clinical practice.? Work autonomously and manage own workload as a lead specialist in their area? Provide specialist education and training to Staff? Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses? Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and the quality of care delivered.? Lead the development and planning of clinical services within the specialist field.? Demonstrate the Health Board's values and ensure that others demonstrate the same values.? Undertake clinical Activity e.g. Clinics, ward-based work, telephone consultations etc.? Undertake professional Activity e.g. Audit, CPD, teaching, research and administration
