An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systemic Family Therapist and/or Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist to join our unique Family Interventions and Support Service (FISS) in Croydon. We are looking for a motivated clinician who is passionate about working with families and carers. You would join a small team working in Adult Secondary Care providing therapeutic support and interventions to adults with psychosis and their families/carers/networks.
**This post will consider people applying to a Preceptorship Band 7to 8A development role (including newly qualified clinicians) OR direclty to apply to 8A post. Please note that as a Preceptorship B7 to B8A there is scope for 1.0 wte whilst the 8A role is as 0.8 wte. Main duties of the job

To provide highly specialist psychological interventions/therapy for the carers, families/networks and people living with psychosis and complex mental health problems within secondary care adult psychosis community services in Croydon- including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a specialist in the Croydon psychosis community services for families and carers.
To promote service evaluation, audit and research.
To work as an autonomous professional within registration body guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and to decide how they are best achieved.
To be active in the provision of staff support within their area. To participate, as a recipient, in staff support work when appropriate.
About us
FISS is based at Jeanette Wallace House in central Croydon, close to local amenities and public transport. This small and friendly team is comprised of a 2 Clinical Psychologists, an Assistant Psychologist, Trainee Psychologist and a Systemic Family Therapist/Lead. The team was established in 2010 and provides specialist borough wide input to service users residing within the borough of Croydon who have received a primary diagnosis of psychosis/bi-polar disorder and have relatives / social network who would benefit from a family approach. The service works closely with all secondary care teams in the psychosis care pathway, offering a range of evidence-based family interventions (FIp, BFT), Systemic Family Therapy (with a clinic/reflecting team), individual carer support, carer and sibling groups, network meetings, consultation, supervision and teaching. Psychology/Psychotherapy colleagues and care coordinators in the surrounding Community Mental Health Teams work in partnership with FISS. The post holder will be a part of supporting the collaboration and presence of family interventions and needs within the wider community teams. The post also will provide opportunities to further develop in family approaches for psychosis.
FISS is part of a wider psychosis pathway and works/trains closely with psychology and psychotherapy colleagues across the pathway.
