Open to internal MPFT or NSCHT B6 Senior Employment Specialists currently working in the Talking Therapies team
The Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Talking Therapies Team is looking to appoint a Lead Employment Advisor to support the Clinical Director in the day to day running and leadership of the Employment Advisor Service. This post is open to internal candidates already in the service in a Band 6 Senior Employment Advisor role. The successful applicant will work very closely with the Clinical Director and take responsibilities in the areas of performance, strategic oversight and delivery of the employment advice service across the SSOT geography.

Main duties of the job
- Lead Employment Adviser is responsible for line managing a team of Senior Employment Advisors (SEA's) and Employment Advisors (EA's). Ensuring the effective delivery of all work focused and non-work focused interventions by ensuring effective leadership and management of teams of Advisers.
The Lead EA will be accountable and responsible for the professionalism of the whole EA team, ensuring they provide a personalised service to clients.
Undertake training needs analysis of your SEA/EA's in TT SSoT service and identify the modular needs of the individual EAs.
The Lead EA will develop in-depth knowledge of the local labour market, local support and new initiatives, considering the needs of the client to broker effective interventions. Including specialist schemes to help with retaining or finding employment.

- A Post Graduate or Master's degree in a relevant area or equivalent

- Substantial experience of providing vocational/employment support and understanding of return to work planning.
- Experience in Employment advice or mental health core profession, e.g. social work, nursing, occupational health
- Aware of the secondary effects on the individual that could be caused by their mental health experience.
- You will also be aware that many individuals with mental health conditions may also have primary or secondary health conditions and disabilities. The Lead EA will have the knowledge to understand the work implications of these conditions, confidence, fear of failure etc.
- Knowledge of employment and disability related benefits.
Desirable
- Experience of leading / developing specialised TT pathways.
- Experience of leading a project involving psychological professionals or other quality improvement initiatives.
- Aware of and guided by the Job Centre Plus, Employment, Health Condition and Disability guide notes.
