Childrens Team:37.5 hours per week
We are delighted to be in a position to attract 5 full-time Posts for Band 5 therapists who want to work with Children across our service. The Posts will suit newly-qualified therapists or therapists keen to expand their experience working with children.
We have had some significant investment in our services and we are keen to improve service delivery to our children across South Tyneside and Sunderland.
Three posts will be predominantly based in South Tyneside and three in Sunderland although we work across our patch as one integrated team. We have sessions across a range of settings in community clinics and education settings. We are particularly excited to have two of the new Posts funded specifically for children with SEND in South Tyneside.

We are working with agencies and service users across systems to really try and improve the Service to children with SLCN and SEND. This includes working with our Family Hubs, mainstream and specialist education settings, local authority and other health partners as well as commissioners.

Main duties of the job
You will have experience of working with children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties, and be able to assess, plan and provide intervention and therapy within a range of settings. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to working in a multi-disciplinary way to facilitate the best outcomes for children. You will be well-supported and be part of a forward-thinking department that provides a range of specialist services and is always striving to be innovative and put research into practice to improve patient outcomes. Developing our team members in their career path is the corner-stone of this. Our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Team covers South Tyneside and Sunderland localities. - Completion of pre-registration year-RCSLT NQT competences signed off -full clinical autonomy.
