We require a midwife who is passionate about managing and cordinating the Labour ward at Newham University Hospital, ensuring that optimal use is made of available resources to provide appropriate and effective cover over any 24hour period.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be a registered midwife, able to demonstrate higher level clinical skills and work independently. You will have sound management skills, resilience and the ability to meet the demands of a busy clinical service. In this role you will be expected to demonstrate passion for promoting normality, offer women continuity of care / carer to support women in every part of their pregnancy journey as recommended in the Better Births report (2016).

Essential

  • A minimum of two years as a registered midwife
  • Proven experience of effective working in a multidisciplinary setting

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in approach to work patterns

  • Knowledge and experience of risk management

Skills

Essential

  • Registered Midwife qualified to degree level such as to meet the requirements of the role with any reasonable adjustments
  • Mentorship qualification /'sign off' mentor

  • Masters or evidence of significant post registration education
