To continually develop and monitor ways to improve how services are delivered to improve patient care and experience against a backdrop of increasing demand and substantial theatre efficiency requirements. This post holder is responsible for supporting the Theatres Operational Manager with leading on theatre utilisation, focusing on improving health, better care and lower costs, whilst striving towards achieving CIP targets and improving the patient care journey. This will comprise liaising with relevant improvement Project Teams, Theatres, Admissions, SSD, and all supporting services and Clinical Service Managers involved. The post holder will also ensure communication is maintained between all stakeholders, organisational procedures are adhered to, objectives are identified and met and benefits realised from the implementation of the change. The Theatres Operational Support Manager will work closely with the Theatres Operational Manager, Theatre Clinical Managers, Theatre Matrons and Admissions Team using their clinical knowledge and organisational skills to ensure that all resources are utilised to provide maximum efficiency and capacity, improving revenue generation, whilst continuing to provide an excellent patient experience.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the running of 8 6 4 theatre planning process ensuring procedures are supported and completed. Lead Session Planning meetings ensuring theatre lists, staff, equipment and resource requirements are supported to deliver the optimum utilisation, maximising efficiency and delivering a positive patient experience. Monitor progress on activities and provide regular reports to the Senior Theatre Management Huddle. Responsible for ensuring that all facilities within their area of responsibility are utilised efficiently and in a way that maximises revenue, whilst ensuring that positive and collaborative relationships are maintained, with patient safety at the forefront as a priority. Manage the planning and organisation of own workload, which involves prioritising a demanding workload and providing direction to project and direct team members. To develop and implement a strategy that supports the efficient and effective management of the theatre environment. Identify innovative solutions to service delivery due to rapidly changing and evolving service provision in theatres. Assist with the formulation of plans, objectives and implementation of associated actions to meet the Directorates business planning process. Responsible for supporting the Theatre Operational Manager to lead and deliver the performance management in relation to the theatres on a day to day basis.
